Underdog

Meet Rhino and Gazelle, characters of Underdog.

In colaboration with Polyhedric Studio

Underdog is one of my sweetest experiences early in my career. This short animated noir, created in collaboration with Polyhedric Studio, was a great success, winning various awards worldwide.

 

I was responsible for the full creation of the characters. The short film was made using Unreal Engine 4, and the challenge was achieving good topology while maintaining a low poly count—each character had around 20k polygons.

 

It was a valuable lesson in character design and modeling, emphasizing the impact of proportion and harmony, as well as the importance of facial expressions to create characters that are easy to empathize with.
